GAMBIA APPEAL FUND

In the latter part of 2007, Alan Farnell, manager of our Under 14’s team introduced our Chaiman, Darren Hodgkiss to Judi Milner, the organiser of the charity Unity for Kids, who was involved with fund raising to help under privileged children with few resources in a remote village in Gambia to promote and develop their interest in football.

As a result, Darren, with the help of other committee members arranged for a quantity of surplus football kits to be sent to the village, and in February 2008 organised a successful Quiz Night at Pelsall Cricket Club to raise money for the benefit of the charity.

Darren says: "Take a look at the photo’s - I’m sure it will make you proud of the efforts this club has made to bring a little bit of happiness into these kids lives, and don't forget - if you had new boots for Christmas don't throw the old ones away, pass them on to the Club so we can send them out to Gambia!"
