Pelsall Villa Colts
U11's v Park Hill Boys - League Match

At last Pelsall got to play against Park Hill, having previously cancelled their last two games with us. Pelsall were on top from the word go in the first half with some fantastic football from all concerned. This being their last match of the season, Pelsall went out all guns blazing. Park Hill had a goal kick that went straight to Connor Fellows who headed it to Ryan Whitticase who then played through to Daniel Caunt who smashed the ball into the bottom left hand corner. Shots galore came flooding but the Park Hill goalie made some fantastic saves, keeping them in the game. Half time 1 - 0. Second half, Park Hill played well with Pelsall keeper Tom Brough also making some fantastic saves. Some great defending and midfield play by all at Pelsall - seconds from the whistle Pelsall conceeded a corner, which was saved but Pelsall were unable to clear the ball out of the box. With everyone scrambling for the ball Park Hill sneaked in a goal, the last kick of the match before the final whistle.

Half Time Score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 - Park Hill Boys 0
Final Score:
Pelsall Villa Colts 1 - Park Hill Boys 1
Goal Scorers: Daniel Caunt (1).
Starman: Tom Brough in goal.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9’s v Silverdale Hornets - Semi Final

Villa boasting a new team kit for this semi final clash. A very nervous start for Villa nothing seemed to gel for them this round. The break came late in the second half, a big throw from Lucas Fallons set piece found George Overton as he tucked away his well deserved first for the lions. Pelsall determined to give nothing away penned the Hornets into their own half through most of the game. After the break plenty of shots were rained on the Hornets keeper to no avail. Tyler Nelson was to thread a great ball to the feet of Lucas Fallon to claim a justified second for Villa. Dylan Green was unfortunate not to score from well inside is own half with a thunderous strike hitting the cross bar. Bring on the final!!

Half Time Score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 – Silverdale Hornets 0
Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 2 – Silverdale Hornets 0
Goal Scorers:
George Overton (1), Lucas Fallon (1)
Starman:

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Red Star Raiders - Cup Final

What can only be described as a tremendous sporting occasion for both the teams, managers and the supporters. A fantastic nip and tuck game for both squads. Fair play awards should have been awarded to both teams for competitive spirit, clean challenges and a final for both squads to remember. Defensive and mid field battles carried through the whole of the clash. 0-0 half time, 0-0 full time, 0-0 through both periods of extra time. Villa as were the Raiders looking nervous throughout the penalty shoot out, but not nearly as much as the parents! Villa unfortunately loosing this part of the battle conceding one more than the Raiders. We would all like to thank Tom Wellings for his courageous efforts through the penalties.

Well done the whole squad a tremendous season and good luck for next year!!!!!

Pelsall Villa Colts U9’s v Shire Oak Devils

An important tie for Pelsall being knocked out previously by the Devils. Pelsall kept a high line the first half, the home guard determined not to let the Devils break. A stunning strike from George Overton was to find Villas first and the cross bar denying him of a second. Plenty of chances fell to Villa only to be clawed out by Devils outstanding keeper. Pelsall playing some great football in the second half and a superb defensive roll from Sam Farnell helping keep a clean sheet. Lucas Fallon was to score the second for Villa making the score line more realistic to their performance!!

Well done Pelsall and a great return after the break!!

Half Time Score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 – Shire Oak Devils 0

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Wyrley Panthers

A quarter final cup clash for the lads now in un chartered territory. Pelsall found top form for this game and were due to give a team a going over. Tyler Nelson working his magic found the first, Lee Thomas found the second with a tap in on the far post. The 3rd fell to George Overton with an outstanding header. Well worked football found the illusive Dan Dunn in prime position to tuck away the 4th. A lovely weighted pass from Dan Dunn into the path of George Overton was neatly tucked away to claim the 5th. Commiseration to Wyrley unfortunate to find the Lions in top class form.

Outstanding performance from the Lions! Roll on the semi finals and good luck lads!

Half time score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 – Wyrley Panthers 0
Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 5 – Wyrley Panthers 0
Goal Scorers:

Pelsall Villa Colts U9’s v Tipton Youth

Tipton managing to become a great team in the latter stages of the season. Another toughie for Villa in the final stages of their league campaign. Pelsall found themselves trailing by two early goals in the first half. However, impeccable defending from Sam Farnell kept their attacks at bay. After the break Lucas Fallon with an evil strike just outside the box was to give a glimmer of hope for Pelsall. Lucas was denied again from the cross bar “he has hit more wood than Jigsaw this year”! How high do you want the goals? Villa pushed high up the park to try and break the deficit leaving a chance for Tipton to break and punish Villa with another.

Half Time Score: Pelsall Villa Colts 0 – Tipton Youth 2
Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 – Tipton Youth 3
Goal Scorers:
Lucas Fallon (1)
Starman:

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Silverdale JFC

Top of the table and already league winners for the last game of the season! Both teams battled hard in this clash with only the odd goal ever separating these squads. Both Villa and Silverdale created chances and were denied at each end from both outstanding keepers. Only one chance was taken unfortunately for Pelsall it was to fall to Silverdale!

Half time score: Pelsall Villa Colts 0 – Silverdale JFC 1
Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 0 – Silverdale JFC 1

Pelsall Villa Colts
U11's v FC Premier - League Match

A cracking start from Pelsall today saw Connor Fellows get the first of a hat-trick, a minute later a pass from Connor set Daniel Caunt up for Pelsall's second when he placed it into the top right hand corner, some great defending from Jack Hopkins, Ben Higgins, Jack Proud & Harry Shaw and as usual the determined Mitchell Paddock. Connor got his second with a cheeky little chip over the keeper. Half time 0 - 3. Second half, Pelsall carried on from where they left off with Reece Clarkson Boyce having a shot stopped by the keeper, and who should be there for the rebound and put it in the back of the net was Daniel Caunt getting his brace for Pelsall. Luke Edmunds had a shot saved, then Connor got his hat-trick. Reece then went on to get Pelsall's sixth. Good performances all around from Ryan Whitticase, Callum Bickley & Tom Brough in goal had a couple of great saves.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Cresswell Colts

Time to make amends for the previous ties for Pelsall. A tougher clash between these two equally talented clubs. Tyler Nelson was to find the first for Villa with a rocket of a strike from outside the box. Tyler was to have another pop at the keeper from long range only to be denied by the cross bar. Villa held the lead into the break. The second for villa came shortly after the break, George Overton finding the back of the net with a terrific strike. Great work in midfield from our Mr. Duracell himself Dan Sanders who’s battery never fails held the game tight. Cresswell were to find their only goal from a conceded corner and a well taken header. Hand ball in the box and a penalty fell to Villa. Lee Thomas was to clinch victory for Villa and a well deserved 3 points.

Pelsall Villa Colts
U11's v Shire Oak Saints Shadows - League Match

Pelsall started this match with determination, keeping the Shadows goalie very busy. A break by Shadows gained them the first goal followed by another shortly before half time. Pelsall were on top form and things became really heated on the pitch, and then Shadows netted a third. Ryan Whitticase took the credit for Pelsall's first goal when he crossed the ball causing Shadows to score an own goal. A corner from Harry Shaw saw Daniel Caunt net the second. Pelsall were definately on fire but with great efforts from everyone they just could not get that equalizer which in fairness, they thoroughly deserved.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9’s v Red Star Raiders

Favorably a great tie between these two squads and never fails to disappoint. Both Villa and Raiders defended admirably throughout this clash. The first goal falling to the Raiders playing a long ball to the strikers. This was soon rectified with a thunderous strike from Tyler Nelson taking us into the break tied. Villa came out with relentless passion a great pass gave Lucas Fallon a clear chance to be denied by an outstanding save. Again Lucas hit the cross bar and the post twice before a corner and a well taken header left Villa trailing again. Full marks went to Dylan Green for top quality defensive duties. Villa we’re again undone conceding an own goal in the latter stages.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Wyrley Tigers

All a little quiet in the first half of this game, Villa being a tad solemn with their earlier defeat. This was soon corrected in the early stages of the second half. El Capitano Lee Thomas with a tremendous toe poke (and Lee “yes it was”) gave Villa the lead. Tyler Nelson was to find the second the lad in great form. Villa pushing high up the park left a hole at the back for Wyrley to try and rectify the damage. A well struck ball and a terrific save from the freshly pierced Tom Wellings ensured a clean sheet. George Overton was to net the third with a class strike giving the keeper no chance!!

Sunday, April 3rd 2011 @ Pelsall EDC - Festival Trophy.

Pelsall Villa Colts
U12's v Brownhills Community.

What a game from start to finish! Pelsall were determined that they were going to continue their winning streak. They started the game well nearly scoring in the first minute due to some fantastic play between Ruairi Mcllellan and Jack Johnson passing the ball through from the kick off Jack Bullock not being able to find the net. They weren't going to give the ball away easily keeping there heads they used the wingers both Sam Taylor and Luke Webster pushing forward. Goals were quick to follow from Jack Bullock and Sam Taylor. Brownhills came back trying hard to find the net, it just wasn't going to happen. Joe Stackhouse stood solid in goal third and fourth goals soon followed as Pelsalls defense held strong pushing Brownhills deeper into their own half. The game went Pelsall's way ending in a much deserved win.

Pelsall were on top form today with shots on goal from the word go but were unable to find the back of the net before half time. Bullets were quiet and didn't do much to bother Pelsall's keeper. A penalty was awarded to Pelsall following a foul on Connor Fellows inside the box, which unfortunatley was saved. Pelsall made a cross by Ryan Whitticase to Daniel Caunt who put Pelsall 1 - 0 ahead. Daniel promptly repaid the favour, unselfishly passing the ball to Ryan who made it 2 - 0. Connor Fellows got the third and fourth, with Bullets getting a consolation.

Sunday, April 3rd 2011 – Silverdale Saints v Pelsall Villa Colts U16's @ Walstead Road, Delves.

Silverdale Saints v Pelsall Villa Colts U16's.

Pelsall Villa Colts were superb in this quarter final of the Edwards Cup. A great game to watch and we got our just deserves in the end following a poor penalty decision that let Silverdale back into the game. Tom Rowley ran the left hand side of defense superbly well and got his just rewards with a superbly struck goal which gained him starman (his goal followed a Cristiano Ronaldo like run beating 3 defenders). Our defensive unit yet again played a big part with Jack Sheppard, Ashley Taylor and Tom Lycett. Joel Butler and Kom Iyol together with Alex Scott stuck to the game plan in midfield. Thanks to the lads on the sidelines who didn’t get played due to this tight game, as substitutions were made on a more of a tactical bases than usual. These players will be given priority in our next league game which if results go our way we could gain second place in the league. We are now at the business end of the season with 2 semi finals to play as well as a final. It’s going to be a busy 6 weeks. We can now look forward to a great tour in Holland at De Eemhof Centre Parcs with 2 big games to play against Dutch opponents Roda 46 and Vorden FC. These games will provide great match experience for our cup games to come in May.

A bogey team for Villa loosing twice to these in previous clashes. Villa with their heads high from the previous performance soon put this to rights. The third fell as Lucas Fallon was to launch a great corner, a deflected own goal left the Devils stunned. Sunday, March 27th 2011 – Pelsall Villa Colts U16's v Silverdale u16’s @ Pelsall EDC.

Pelsall Villa Colts U16's v Silverdale u16’s.

This was a must win game for Pelsall to try to win the league this season with one game left in April. Unfortunately a lack lustre performance by the team will probably see us finishing in third place. Liam Dixon in goal played a major part in giving our team a chance with some great saves. A special mention to Ashley Taylor and Tom Lycett who also played a big part in defense. However, on a more positive note we still have some very important games over the next 2 months which should bring Pelsall some silverware this season hopefully. The squad needs to take advantage of all of our available training sessions to enable us to maintain our performances that we know we can achieve on the pitch. One final already stamped in (Sid Gutteridge Trophy) with a semi final in May to reach the Buller Cup Final. Come on let’s put this weekend’s performance behind us and try and win some trophies. The Edwards Cup competition starts this weekend with another game against Silverdale, I think we now know what we are up against and therefore I expect a high quality performance from our team to reach the next round.

Chasetown had some great shots on goal but Tom Brough was unassailable. Midfielders Harry Shaw and Jack Proud were fantastic and by half time the score did not do justice. 0-0. Five minutes into the second half Luke Edmunds delivered a neat pass to Daniel Caunt, who made a left footed shot into the bottom right hand corner putting Pelsall one nil up. Blakenall Harriers F.C. v Pelsall Villa Colts
U11's - League Match

A controversial match, but it did not prevent Pelsall doing what they do best, scoring goals!! A run down the left wing by Daniel Caunt, passing to Connor Fellows resulted in the first of a brace for Connor. A back pass from his defender to the Blakenall keeper, which should have awarded free kick to Pelsall gave Blakenall a chance to get one back, quickly followed by an own goal. Second half saw Calum Bickley in goal for Ben Higgins who went outfield. Blakenall equalised, but then a cross to Ryan Whitticase allowed him him to slot one in the bottom left hand corner. Reece Clarkson Boyce passed to Daniel Caunt who dummied the keeper and slotted his first goal in the net. Connor Fellows got his second from a long range shot but Blakenall had not given up scoring quite yet. Daniel Caunt got his second, and then made it a Hat Trick and Pelsall's seventh, chipping a left footer past the Blakenall keeper. Blakenall then got a late consolation goal. Pelsall could have had more, with further shots from Luke Edmunds, Harry Shaw and Reece Clarkson Boyce. Absolutely superb defensive work by Mitchell Paddock who didn't let anything get past him.

Brownhills Stags v Pelsall Villa Colts U14's.

The U14 Colts had to work hard to earn all the points in a close game played in poor conditions. Villa took an early lead when Dan Hughes finished well from the edge of the box but Brownhills equalised midway through the first half when Villa failed to clear their lines and the ball was scrambled in. Brownhills then took the lead with an unstoppable wonder strike from 20 yards out. Villa fought back and levelled the scores just before half time when Ashley Ellis hit a powerful shot into the back of the opponents net. The second half started with continual pressure from Pelsall but a combination of fine goalkeeping and poor finishing kept the scores level. With ten minutes left to play Pelsall were awarded a corner and Joe Moriarty headed powerfully past the Brownhills keeper. In the dying minutes Brownhills were awarded a penalty but the Villa keeper James Solly produced a magnificent save diving at full stretch to keep the ball out. A great team performance and 3 hard earned but thoroughly deserved points.

Wednesbury Town Celtic v Pelsall Villa Colts

In spite of the windy conditions this was a cracking game of football which ebbed and flowed from start to finish. Pelsall had control of the early part of the game and missed several chances that would have been converted under normal conditions, it wasn’t long before the pressure paid off and Dan Bott bundled the ball over the line to give Pelsall a well deserved lead, 10 minutes later he was on hand again to double the lead, Wednesbury pulled one back following a mistake by Drew Aiton which made it 1-2 at half time. Five minutes into the second half Wednesbury were awarded a very dubious penalty which was converted to make the game all square. The second half proved to be even more exciting than the first half and looked certain to finish in a draw until Drew Aiton scored a great individual goal with 2 minutes remaining on the clock, Pelsall had no sooner finished celebrating when Wednesbury were awarded another penalty, a tremendous save by Ollie Salt and the final whistle meant a well deserved victory for Pelsall Villa Colts.

Once again Pelsall came out fighting, they had shot after shot from everyone in the team. Connor Fellows hitting the bar a couple of times and Ryan Whitticase testing the keeper. The break came in the 23rd minute from a free kick taken short from Connor to Daniel Caunt who crossed into the box and was put in the net by Reece Clarkson - Boyce. 5 minutes later saw Ryan take on the keeper and slot one in. Half time score 2 - 0. Second half, Pelsall keeper Ben Higgins, refreshed and back from holiday kept a clean sheet with a couple of saves from FC Premier but that's all they had to give, this was Pelsalls game. Luke Edmunds doing tremendous in midfield and would have scored if the linesman hadn't given offside, which he was NOT. Great defensive again from Harry Shaw, Mitchell Paddock, Jack Proud. Pelsall Villa Colts LFC v Stafford Development LFC

Stafford Development were in second place but only on goal difference to top of the league so Pelsall knew they were going to be in a battle and so it proved in the first half. It was end to end stuff with both teams battling for every ball and from a spectators point of view a tremendous game to watch. It took a brilliant save from Taz (Sarah Thompson) the Pelsall keeper to keep Stafford out and the defence had to be on top of their game to stop their impressive midfield and forwards but a welcome return to the team of Gemma Whitehouse alongside regulars Emily King and Sarah Forsyth stuck to their task and did a fantastic job. Both sides played their parts but it was Pelsall's top goalscorer Stacey Arnold that broke the deadlock when a perfect pass from midfielder Sam Cullum saw her start her run and blast the ball into the net to score the only goal of the first half. The second half started and Pelsall let their lead slip when Stafford equalised with a goal from Caroline Gascoyne. Stafford started to put Pelsall under pressure and it took another spectacular save from Taz that even the ref applauded to stop them taking the lead. This certainly woke Villa up and they stepped up a gear and started to take control, a well timed and struck pass from Carena Dixon to Stacey who once again found the target made it 2-1, then another welcome return to the team of April Phillips who came on to replace Katie Moore, who was outstanding having returned after 4 weeks out through injury, went on a run and was brought down in the box stopping a certain goal, Stacey stepped up to take the penalty and gave the Stafford keeper no chance of a save another hat trick for her making it 4 for the season so far. Another perfect pass, this time from Lauren Smith picked out Carena who ran on to the ball and struck it with force and precision to get Pelsall's 4th. Pelsall were dominating now and Jenny Kendrick, Carena Dixon, Lauren Smith, Sam Cullum and Kelly Rudge were winning everything between them and it was only a matter of time before more goals were scored. A lovely move btween Jenny and Carena once again found Stacey who once again found the target. Amber Jones replaced Sarah Forsyth and Chantelle Oliveri replaced Kelly Rudge for the last 15 minutes and Pelsall continued to dominate and managed to end the game with a 6-1 win when once again Stacey scored her 5th with another well taken goal. This was a great team performance against a good well organised established team, well done girls!

Goal Scorers: Stacey Arnold (5), Carena Dixon(1).

Silverdale Tigers. v Pelsall Villa Colts
U14's(A)

Pelsall started the game well with star player Nick Aston striking the post from twenty five yards.this gave the strong Siverdale the warning they needed and was not long before they had taken control of the game scoring 4 set piece goals leaving Pelsall shell shocked, It was the introduction of Edward Evans who hit back for Pelsall to spur a last twenty minutes of intense pressure,Nick Aston burst through the Silverdale defence to slot into the bottom left corner that was followed by a sweet half volley from Dan Wood but it was not Pelsall's day again they simply left themselves too much to do.

Star Player Nick Aston outstanding in midfield and centre forward led by example
Shannon Causer best goal keeping performance this season made some outstanding saves.

Pelsall Villa Colts U16's v Pye green Strikers F.C. - 2.15 Kick off @ Rushall EDC- Cup match.

One of those games with many, many chances but unfortunately not converted, plus a couple disallowed. Pelsall went down to 10 men early in the game following One of our defenders handling the ball on the goal line (fantastic save) which lead to a sending off and a penalty by Pye Green which they missed thanks to a great safe by our keeper Liam Dixon. Another clean sheet for our defensive unit, keep it up. Midfield battled hard as always with a big thanks to Joel Butler who unfortunately has suffered ligament damage to his foot which was discovered after the game had finished (must have played through a lot of pain). Man Of Match – Kumater Iyol battled till the end in midfield and released some superb balls from midfield to our attacking unit. Not to worry we are in the next round which is a semi final..

Big game next week against the league leaders Aston FC. Come on Pelsall.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9’s v Tipton Youth Hawks

A convincing win for all the villa lads as they led the march after being knocked out of the cup the week end prior. An early penalty was awarded to Dan Sanders as he was fouled in the area. A calm Dan neatly tucked away for villas first. Lee Thomas claimed the second as he battled through mid field, Tipton finding it difficult to keep the terrier at bay. Tyler Nelson scoring the third with a well struck ball just inside the box led the Villa to half time. Substitutions at half time meant George Overton would claim the fourth with an early strike in the second half. Eager all the lads pushed well up field leaving a chance and a break for Tipton to claim a goal. Still hungry George Overton replied with the 5th, 6th and 7th in concession a great tally for the young man. Dan Dunn rallied in the box to claim yet another for Villa. A late goal fell to Tipton before the final whistle.
Fantastic Team effort lads.

Pelsall Villa Colts U9's v Cresswell Colts

A large break between matches left Villa a little cold at the start of the game. Always a good match between these two teams being equally talented. A goal gifted Cresswell an early lead in the first half. However, a hard working Tyler Nelson scored a well deserved equalizer. End to end and chances falling to both teams as they both battled the cold throughout the first half. George Overton scored Villas 2nd as they came in for half time. A determined Cresswell came out and created the early equalizer. Chances falling Cresswells way and tight defending gave the keeper Tom Wellings no chance as Cresswell were gifted a deflected third. A slightly deflated Villa left Cresswell time and space to create their fourth.

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 2 – Cresswell Colts 4
Goal Scorers: Tyler Nelson (1) George Overton (1)

Starman: Tyler Nelson – Tremendous Commitment

Superb team effort again with most of the play by Pelsall. A great team spirit was present. Fantastic game and a great victory. Firstly many thanks to Danny Rudd for playing in goal due to Liam Dixon’s injury.
Superb Goals from Robert Holmes (2) Josh Whittaker (1) Joel Butler (1) and Man Of Match – William Osborne (3) completes this great performance. Our defense remained focused throughout the game with our first clean sheet of the season. A defense marshaled by Ashley Taylor, James Pritchard., Tom Rowley, Tom Lycett which later got complimented by Lee Molineaux and Daniel Kerrigan seldom looked likely to be breached. Kumater Iyol, Lewis Moore and Frazer Evans maintained an engine room like Midfield and Alex Scott supported the Strike force as always – Liam Dixon although injured and could not play in goal came on late In the game and hit the cross bar and Lee Molineaux produced a great assist in scoring our last goal and completing Will Osborne’s Hat trick. Our strike force this week was second to none, keep it up lads.

Great performance by our Captain Ashley Taylor who continues to improve every week in motivating the team with encouragement and direction.

Pelsall Villa Colts
U11's v Tipton F.C. - Friendly

Calum Rhys Bickley, standing in for regular keeper Ben Higgins did a sterling job for Pelsall. Six minutes in, Pelsall were awarded a free kick. Connor Fellows made an accurate delivery, the keeper got a touch but was unable to keep hold allowing Daniel Caunt to knock the ball into the back of the net. Tipton failed to make any impression on Pelsall for the remainder of the first half. Second half saw Tipton come out fighting. Ten minutes in, Pelsall were down to eight men following an injury sustained byTom Brough. Midway through the second half a penalty was awarded against Pelsall and two further goals came in quick succession as Tipton took full advantage of Pelsall's depleted numbers. Ryan Whitticase pulled one back for Pelsall in 54th minute but despite concerted efforts, Pelsall, punching one division above their weight, were unable to acheive the draw - fulltime score 2-3 to Tipton.

Well Done Lads - you didn't give Tipton an easy time!

Pelsall Villa Colts
U12A's v Wyrley Lions

Another great game between these two teams, Pelsall started strong and were soon in the lead, going one up after some great passing between Luke Webster and Joe Hammond with Luke Webster putting it over the defenders, straight into the net. Wyrley soon came back evening up the score. Pelsall's defence just kept pushing the game into Lions half making them play really deep they then conceded a goal put easily into the net by Jack Bullock, but Lions were soon fighting back. Pelsall carried on pushing forward but a lucky break by Lions soon levelled the game. Neither team were giving anything away during the second half. At full time the score remained level. Straight into extra time, both teams were playing the ball end to end, trying to break down one another defence. It just wasn't going to happen, the game then went to penalties, Pelsall missing the first two taking Lions into the lead. From the whistle Chasetown were under pressure from Pelsall. Daniel Caunt scored first for Pelsall, lobbing the keeper in the 7th minute from a through-pass from Reece Clarkson-Boyce. Chasetown equalised after a few minutes, making the half time score 2-2. Ten minutes into second half, Daniel Caunt won the ball from a Chasetown goal kick and which saw him comfortably complete his hat-trick for the second week running. Pelsall Villa Colts LFC v Uttoxeter LFC

Last weeks fixture against 5 Towns where Pelsall had only 9 players to start the game and went down to 8 following injury to Katie Moore after half an hour but still winning the game 4.3 was going to be hard to beat as regards to the teams outstanding performance and determination. Fielding a full team this week proved to be too much for a young Uttoxeter team and Pelsall were soon on a goalspree with the first one was netted by Jenny Kendrick, quickly followed by the ever alert Stacey Arnold, Sam Cullum our hard working midfielder not usually on the scoresheet put in Villa's third, Stacey got the fourth and fifth goals giving her a hatrick and Shawnie Berry scored her first and Pelsall's sixth, a penalty awarded was taken by Shawnie also who put it away very sweetly giving the Uttoxeter Keeper no chance before the half time whistle went. The second half saw uttoxeter come out battling but defenders Emily King, Amber Jones and Sarah Forsyth were in no mood to let them get through and did there jobs brilliantly. Carena Dixon worked tirelessly and on several occassions came very close to scoring herself but it just wouldn't go in for her. Villa were constantly on the attack with Lauren Smith and Kelly Rudge working hard in midfield and setting up other players regularly and as in the first half it was Jenny who started the off the scoring in second with a superbly struck header, and again as in the first half Stacey scored another taking her tally to four. Chan then scored our tenth and her first for the team with a very well taken goal, the talented Jodie Lewis then scored Villa's last two goals to take the final score to twelve. Uttoxeter are young and inexperienced and this is their first season at open age football but throughout the game never gave up running and they have a team who will improve as the season goes on, they were never downbeat and gave Pelsall a match they should be proud of, Goalkeeper Becky Bloor for Uttoxeter was outstanding and stopped the score being far more.

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts LFC 12 - Utoxeter 0
Goal Scorers: Sunday 31st October : Stacey Arnold (2), Lauren Smith (2)

Pelsall Villa Colts
U14's(A) v Tipton

Pelsall once again un-done by a punt down the middle leaving the Tipton striker one on one with Pelsall's Keeper to finish and win the game for Tipton",That was the punch line but the story was nothing like the result. Pelsall were camped in Tiptons half for most of the game, midfielders Zak Marlow, Regan Smith bossed the middle of the park, Wingers Joe Ryder, Dan Wood, Tom Bunn and star player Lewis Collins caused havoc but it just was not pelsall's day. chance after chance went begging and finally after a solid performance at the back was cruwely undone ten minutes from the end. Congratulations to Tipton who stuck at it and took one of a limited chance to win the game. I'm sure Pelsall will come again and on another day !!!!!!!!.

Pelsall Villa Colts U11's v Shire Oak Shadows

The cold start didn't dampen Pelsall Villa Colts under 11's spirit, with a 6th minute cross from Reece Clarkson Boyce tapped in by Daniel Caunt. A misunderstanding in the goal mouth awarded Shadows a penalty, and the ball was neatly placed in the top corner. Half time score was 1-1. Second half saw Shadows, who had not lost a match so far this season, come back fighting, quickly getting a 2nd goal. Pelsall were continually making shots care of Ryan Whitticase and Connor Fellows, another fine cross from Reece saw Daniel go past the defender and shoot into the top corner, netting his 2nd goal of the match, then a brilliant run by Daniel and a cross on to the head of brave Calum Rhys Bickley, unfortnately saved by the keeper. Pelsall could have been 4 or 5 up, but 7 minutes from time the lads, who really didnt want to be beaten, were rewarded for their efforts with a third goal from Daniel Caunt securing his hat-trick. A well deserved win, great team effort all round. Fabulous play from the Pelsall lads - every player gave 110% - Jack Hopkins deservingly awarded man of match for his faultless defensive work.

Pelsall Villa Colts
U12's v Old Wulfrunians

Pelsall started slowly but soon started to turn the game around going 1 nil up from Jack Bullocks goal but Old Wulfrunians scored an equaliser, this forced Pelsall to battle harder, another goal by Jack Bullock put them in the lead again. But then Pelsall's defenders found them selves under pressure this resulted in a tackle that gave Old Wulfrunians a chance to equal the game with a penalty which they did. Pelsall's goalkeeper Joe Stackhouse didn't stand a chance of saving this. Pelsall weren't going to let their heads drop, they carried on and after half time they upped there game with some fantastic passing out to the wings for Sam Taylor and Luke Webster to assist in the next two goals from Mitchel Burkes but this wasn't enough for Pelsall they continued to get stronger moving the game forward the midfielders holding strong and not allowing Old Wulfrunians to break through then another goal from Jack Bullock gave him his hat trick. A great game well done both teams.

What can only be described as a fantastic clash between these two teams. Balls lost and won back all game, a game of chess between both sides. Great work from the defense of both teams made sure no further attempts on goal would come!

Pelsall Villa Colts U9s v Silverdale JFC

Another tough game for the Villa lads as they tried to raise confidence from their first defeat. A well taken free kick from George Overton gave Pelsall an early lead. Both teams enthusiastic with a drive to win gave Silverdale the chance to score an equalizer in the first half. Tom Wellings with some great reaction saves ensured we went into the break at 1-1. A swap round in the team lead to an early 2nd goal for Villa as the pace of Tyler Nelson found a yard to create the 2nd. The glory was soon lost as a strong front line for Silverdale awarded them the equalizer and the 3rd to claim the win.

U14's(A)

Pelsall recorded back to back away wins beating Brewood Juniors, Pelsall found themselves 1 down at the break with a Lewis Collins finish judged to be off side in the first half. Pelsall shell shocked from the first half result started strongly and fortunately leveled the game after Brewood keeper spilled a long range effort into the path of inform Regan Smith who dispatched the ball into the empty net. Nick Aston went up top to add some strength to the attack and caused Brewood all kinds of problems but it was his strike partner Ryan Kimberley who notched twice to put Pelsall out of reach and take the three points back to Pelsall with two neat finishes. Brewood did score late in the game but the points were packed away pushing Pelsall up the league to fourth position.

Blakenall Harriers v Pelsall Villa Colts
U14's(A)

It was a matter of time before Pelsall produced the kind of performance they had been threatening for weeks. After Pelsall had taken the lead with a spectacular 35 yard effort from the general Reggie Smith who bossed the midfield from start to finish of this fixture, the game never looked in doubt with Pelsall playing all the football having a high percentage of the possession,Blakenhall's keeper made some outstanding saves and with Jake Davies rattling the bar from a good 25 yards out, Pelsall dominated a usually well fought fixture, The pressure built and built and it was the unfortunate defender from Blakenhall who nodded past his own keeper after good pressure from Cameron RIggon notching up Pelsall's first victory of this campaign. Star player Ryan Barge outstanding in a back four that handled everything Blakenhall threw at them. Regan Smith and Zak Marlow dominant from start to finish..

Handsworth became frustrated and turned to the long punt hoping their speedy forward to latch onto and it was this tactic that not for the first time this season caused Pelsall concern. The outstanding back four was breached half way through the second half then minutes later with Pelsall shell shocked found themselves two behind with it all to do. Pelsall switched formation to three at the back and reaped the rewards wave after wave of attacking football resulted in Nick Aston lashing the ball into the net from 20 yards, this set up a frantic end to the match with Pelsall pushing for the equalizer which came from the ever impressive Regan Smith who beat two players to slot past the visiting keeper to take the point from the fixture.

Sunday, September 26th - Staffordshire County Women's League

Burton Albion LFC v Pelsall Villa Colts LFC

Pelsall got to this game late due to a mix up in pitch addresses and were not really ready to start the game as they should have been. A mistake by the Pelsall defence saw them punished from the Burton forwards. Burton then scored a second when a bizarre situation occurred, Sarah Thompson, the Pelsall keeper made a superb save which resulted in her hand being badly injured, she stayed down in severe pain and the defenders cleared the ball to the half way line, the cap bearing referee decided not to blow and stop the game and the Burton team unsportingly carried on with the Pelsall defenders all over the place, some were not paying attention as they were concerned for their team mate and so was with her seeing how she was, this resulted in Burton scoring their second goal and that was the score at half time. The second half saw Pelsall by far the better side but it just wasn't going their way, they only had themselves to blame when chance after chance was missed, a blatant handball was missed by the ref which came as no surprise to players and supporters alike, Stacey Arnold manage to get one back, On the whole it was a good performance from the Pelsall Ladies, it just wasn't their day and to be fair to Burton they played a good game which would have been enjoyable to watch if it hadn't been spoiled by some of the decisions made.
Next match - away to Lichfield City on Sunday 2nd October, 2010.

Hednesford Town v Pelsall Villa Colts
U14's(A)

Felt like deja vu - same score line as the previous week but a much improved performance from Pelsall who played all the football created plenty of chances but took 2 less than Hednesford. Pelsall were undone by the long ball over the top on more than one occasion with the long punt and a speedy forward line Hednesford played to their strengths, It was Pelsall once again who played the attractive football but ending up with zero points, A lesson to be learnt maybe but if Pelsall continue to play the same way they will surely reap the benefits in the long run. Star player for Pelsall was the very impressive Tom Bunn.

A fast moving game from the off saw Pelsall's Sam Taylor get his first hat trick, Wyrley were very quick to come back with three of thier own, after half time Pelsall came back with Luke Webster and Jack Bullock putting the colts 5 - 3 in front, a change in players put the Lions back on an equal footing the colts just came again and again with some amazing passes between defenders and mid fielders another chance and another goal from Luke Webster again the Lions came back. Pelsall Villa Colts U11's v Blakenall Harriers

Inconsistency and poor observation on the part of the Referee helped rob Pelsall of a well deserved victory in this match. After coming back from one-nil down in the fifth minute, Pelsall had evened the score to 2-2 by half time, courtesy of deadly accurate long-distance free kicks from Ryan Whitticase and Daniel Caunt. A superb goal from a penalty by Reece Clarkson-Boyce which resulted from a Pelsall foul throw not noticed by the referee and the ball being picked up in the penalty box by one of the Blakenall Harriers players. The Ref had no alternative but give a penalty which Reece took and scored top corner, but before the ball was kicked, players surged forward. The retake saw Reece hit crossbar and rebounded to Daniel Caunt who chipped it in during the ensuing goalmouth furor. An arguably offside third goal from the Harriers levelled the score, followed by a fourth goal in the 25th minute and with at least four minutes of injury time not granted, Pelsall's fate was sealed.

Accomplished performances from Ben Higgins in the net, Mitch Paddock and Harry Shaw.

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts U11's 3 - Harriers 4
Goal Scorers: Ryan Whitticase(1), Daniel Caunt(2)

3 sloppy early goals killed us in this game – with goals from , Kom Iyol, Alex Scott and Will Osborne - Man Of Match – Ben Smith – losing Liam Dixon in Goal did not help with 20 minutes of the second half left. Thanks to Danny Rudd for taking over but the team was always playing catch up after the poor start. The Linesman of the opposing team certainly did not help and the Referee was not consistant. Poor penalty decision in the 3rd minute. Better luck next time lads.

Half time score: Pelsall Villa Colts 1 - Lions FC 3
Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 3 - Lions FC 5
Goal scorers: Kom Iyol(1), Alex Scott(1), Will Osborne(1).

Starman: Ben Smith.

Sunday, September 19th 2010 at Brownhills School - R.N. Crutchley Cup Match

Pelsall Villa Colts U11's v Shire Oak Bullets

A nail-biting match full of missed chances saw Pelsall defeated by a single goal in the sixth minute of the first half. Strong defensive work from Harry Shaw and Mitch Paddock, a legendary charge and cross from Jack Proud and an unlucky posting from Daniel Caunt all failed to deflect the Bullets from victory. Outstanding work in the box from the multi-talented starman, Tom Brough.

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts U11's 0 - Bullets 1

Starman: Tom Brough.

Sunday, September 12th - Staffordshire County Women's League

5 Towns LFC v Pelsall Villa Colts LFC

Pelsall started this game with determination and within 10 minutes were 3 - 0 up, Stacey Arnold scored their first 2 and Katie Moore the 3rd. The first half was dominated by Pelsall and could have made the score far more before half time but a break in play when a 5 Towns player fell awkwardly onto to her shoulder resulted in an ambulance being called when it looked like the girl had dislocated it took them a little bit off the boil. The score remained at 3-0 at half time. The second half saw Pelsall a little bit asleep and 5 Towns manged to get a goal back with a great strike but all it did was wake Villa up and step up a gear and from then on Pelsall's domination resumed. Katie Moore got her 2nd goal followed by a lovely build up ending in Jodie Lewis putting away her first, Stacey then scored another 2 taking her tally to 4 and giving Pelsall a 7-1 lead, the ever battling Shawnie Berry then got Pelsall's 8th with a superb long range strike which the goalkeeper could only try and stop but only managed to help into the net. Stacey Arnold got her 5th goal and Katie Moore got another to complete her hat trick before the final whistle blew. Pelsall are beginning to get into their stride, looking fitter and sharper in this game and players are now getting used to playing together. A solid performance from keeper Sarah Thompson and defenders Emily King, Sarah Forsyth and Amber Jones was good to see and midfielders Jenny Kendrick, Sam Cullum, Jodie Lewis and Shawnie Berry and Emma Edmonds were tireless in their support.. Jodie Berry replaced the very tired Emma who had played the previous day in the regional futsal tournament with 6 minutes of play left. Player of the match awarded by referee Mike Isles was Stacey Arnold.

Final score: 5 Towns 1 - Pelsall Villa Colts LFC 10
Goal Scorers: Stacey Arnold(5) Katie Moor (3) Jodie Lewis(1) Shawnie Berry(1).
Stargirl: Stacey Arnold.

Sunday, Sept 12th (Pelsall Villa Colts v Aldersley FC - Bilston U21's Prem Division)

Pelsall Villa Colts V's Aldersley FC

Pelsall started the game the brighter of the two sides and Steve Tambs scored after 10 minutes following sustained pressure which had kept the opposition from getting across the half way line.
This was typical of how the first half was played out and had Pelsall showed a bit more composure in front of goals it could have been a lot more than 1- 0 at the break..
The second half saw Pelsall camped in the Aldersley half for virtually the remaining 45 minutes and had Luke Fletcher not been in fine form in the Aldersley goal it could have been double figures,
Chris Bryan scored in the 75th minute before leaving the game with a head injury, Pelsall finished the game with 10 men but ran out very worthy winners.

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts 2 - Aldesley 0
Goal Scorers: Steve Tambs(1) Chris Bryan (1).
Starman: .

Pelsall Villa Colts U11's v Great Barr Harriers

An early goal from the Harriers in the second minute of play was not the start that Pelsall needed. A second goal was conceded in the seventeenth minute despite concerted pressure from Harry Shaw, Ryan Whitticase and Reece Clarkson-Boyce. The first of two goals from Pelsall's Daniel Caunt saw the first half of the match draw to a close 2-1 to the Harriers.
Second half saw a high midfield shot from the Harriers take the game to 3-1 and the Pelsall defenders were stretched to the limit despite battling performances from Calum Bickley, Mitch Paddock, Jack Proud, Luke Edmunds and the tenacious Jack Hopkins. The second goal from Daniel Caunt raised the Pelsall hopes for at worst, a draw. Continued pressure from Pelsall plus successive free kicks from Reece Clarkson-Boyce and Daniel Caunt came close but not close enough to putting the Colts level or ahead. Pelsall keeper Ben Higgins was kept busy continually throughout the match as was his Harriers counterpart. The Harriers finally broke through to net a fourth goal, in what was in reality a very close match despite the final scoreline

Final score: Pelsall Villa Colts U11's 2 - Harriers 4
Goal Scorers: Daniel Caunt(2)
Starman: Daniel Caunt.

Sunday, September 5th

Port Vale LFC v Pelsall Villa Colts LFC

Pelsall were slow off the mark and a young Port Vale side with plenty of energy and enthusiasm were the better side for the first 20 minutes but our defence held strong and managed to keep them out. We started to play a bit and got better as the first half went on. We were having a few chances and put the youngsters under pressure but it took a superb goal from Carena Dixon to finally get the ball in the back of the net. The second half saw much of the same with goalkeeper Sarah Thompson (Taz) having to make saves and defenders Louise Foster, Emily King and Emily Williams doing their job, some good football was played at times and was encouraging to see, our second goal came towards the end of the game when a shot from Katie Moor couldn't be held by their keeper and Stacey Arnold was there to slot the ball home. Pelsall's first game was a mixed performance but all tried and can only see them getting fitter and stronger and playing the kind of football we know they can produce, it was a positive result with the first 3 points in the bag and they deserve the well done praise they received from Manager and Coach. Player of the match awarded by referee Andy Martin was Louise Foster with an outstanding performance in defence and thoroughly deserved

Final score: Port Vale LFC 0 - Pelsall Villa Colts LFC 2
Goal Scorer: Carena Dixon(1) Katie Moor (1).
Stargirl: Louise Foster.

U21's vs Diffusion at Rushall EDC.

This was a game that the Colts dominated from start to finish, Tod Jewkes scored a well deserved goal on the 10th minute following a nice passage of play down the right flank. Jordan Palmer was on hand to pass the ball into an empty Pelsall net following a mix up between Nathan Babb and Ollie Salt on the 30th minute. The Colts were on top for the rest of the half and got their just reward when Chris Bryan scored in the 35th minute..
The second half was more of the same with Colts dominating from back to front and eventually converted this into goals with another two from Chris Bryan and one from Steve Tambs gave Pelsall a well deserved 5-1 victory.
